Steven Miers >>DirectorSteven is our awesome director, even though he takes life a little too seriously sometimes, he loves camping. He brings a wealth of practical knowledge from his farming background and loves having a good chat with people.
Meet the Team!
Dan McNaughton >>Operations ManagerDan is 2IC, and doesn't take life quiet as seriously as Steven. Dan is our go to guy for anything around site. He brings a vast set of skills to the team from building to odd sock wearing. You'll often find him fixing things around camp, helping Host, or dreaming up new ideas.
Alex Miers >>Administration ManagerAlex interned with us in 2018 and was such a massive help we had to keep her around! She is now full time after finishing her business degree in HR and Public Relations. The only problem with Alex is she likes to duck her responsibilities at CYC from time to time, migrating to Canada every NZ winter.
Monique Riddell >>Ministry Coordinator & MarketingMonique takes the lead role in organising our Holiday Camp programs. With a Bachelors in Event Management under her belt she is a wizz with a spreadsheet and loves to plan and organise.
Jane Miers >>Accounts Coordinator & Bookings SupportJane is Steven's wonderful wife, although sometimes the stress of being married to Steven means she has to draw her smile on. Jane is a key part of the behind the scenes office work. In her spare time she also heads up the gardeing at CYC and homeschools the youngest two of her nine children.
Mandeep Sangha >>Bookings CoordinatorMandeep has left on maternity leave! We can't wait for newborn cuddles!
Jazmin Yates >>Leaders Coordinator & Marketing SupportJazmin comes into the team with a good chunk of experience and a whole lot of ideas. Self-proclaimed personality hire.
Nat Feldon >>Kitchen CoordinatorNat runs our kitchen and cooks the food we serve to our guests. His doughnuts are delicious! When he's not cooking, Nat is also an essential member of our maintenance team.
Nick Dodds >>Maintenance/HostNick is so busy its hard to tell if he is coming or going. The majority of Nick's time is spent working on grounds and maintenance during the week. In the weekends he is your "go to guy" as he does the majority of the weekend hosting.
Grace Bruce >>ChefHats off to Grace who came back to CYC after a 2 year hiatus. Grace is putting her Chef qualification to use as second chef in the kitchen. She brings some delicious baking skills to the team and in her spare time loves to travel!
Hannah Gilmore >>ChefHannah is our other second chef. Both Grace and Hannah are so good at what they do we couldn't possibly choose between them. Hannah is a wiz with food and a multitasking pro, evidenced by her great meals and incredible kitchen prowess.
Nick Tarr >>MaintenanceNick has joined us at CYC after finishing study at East West College of Intercultural Studies. Before that Nick worked as a qualified Electrician. Now Nick spends his days lighting up our lives here at CYC.
Kiya Spice >>Host/InstructorKiya has a huge passion for CYC, and loves pointing people in the right direction. Kiya has been a part of the CYC whanau for years, volunteering during the holidays as one of our incredible leaders. Now he's taking on a new challenge as host and activity instructor.
Drew Burling >> Host/InstructorDrew has over 70 camps worth of experience! She has been involved with CYC from camper to LIT to Leader and 2022 Intern! We are super stoked to have her as part of the team!
Sam Baxendine >>Host/InstructorOnly planning to be at CYC for a few months, Sam realised that he actually loves working here. Has moved into the head instructor role. He loves supporting the lits at holiday camps and is the go to mechanic!
Luke Van Kampen >>InstructorLuke is spending his summer off uni and instructing up a storm! We will be sad to see him off to travel Europe at the end of the busy season!
Binyamin Miers >>What can't he doBinyamin, also known as Beni, keeps our grounds looking fab! From mowing to building, you can always count on him to assist with whatever is needed, even if he might be inclined to roll his eyes at some of the jobs he is given. When he's not working, Beni enjoys a bit of motor crossing and keeping up his growing farming enterprise on Farm Simulator.
Interns
Pathways Intern
Our interns are placement through Pathways College. This internship is unique as it is balanced between 50% ministry and 50% study. Their ministry is 15 hours paid work and 15 hours volunteered. Their study is towards a diploma in Christian Ministries and is made up of six week long block courses throughout the year and online assignments. Karla >>International VolunteerKarla is from Germany. She has been enjoying all things New Zealand has to offer. She enjoys going to Ceilidh dances, volleyball and a good hike! She learnt pretty quickly that the NZ sun is no joke!
Timon >>International VolunteerTimon is also from Germany! He has already joined a local mma club and shadow boxes all around camp. Has coined the nickname T'Money. Has mastered the fine art of turning up seconds before the morning staff meeting begins.
Part Time Staff
Peter DoddsOne of our awesome leaders turned into part-timer when we don't have camps on! Will often find him on the mower around camp!

Rebekah MiersRebekah is married to Eitan, being the brains to Eitan's brawn. Rebekah has finished her time at CYC, interning in 2023. She returns often to catch up with us but somehow ends up working part-time in the kitchen!
Naomi ZegwaardNaomi has been around camp for so long that she's made it to the Part-timers page! We appreciate her hard work and skills so much. She really powers through and is an absolute star.
